Alan has over 40 year's experience in Industry as an Electrical Engineer and the FE&HE sectors. He began as a lecturer, rising to senior management level in these sectors. His last position was as Associate Director for the Engineering Academy at the University of Strathclyde. He retired from that post in September 2024.
He became a Community Councillor for Fort, Seafield & Wallacetown in 2021. In the same year he initiated the proposal to establish the FSWCA.
John is currently Vice-Chair of the FSWCA and has lived in the Fort area of Ayr since 2017. John is a former Business Banking Manager and has run his own Business Consultancy since 1999 working with and alongside various agencies including Scottish Enterprise and Business Gateway to help both new and existing businesses as well as local authorities including South Ayrshire Council. He is a board member of the Fort, Seafield & Wallacetown Community Association (FSWCA) and Voluntary Action South Ayrshire. In his spare time, John enjoys reading, quizzes, crosswords and watching sport as well as walking, cycling and (trying) to keep fit..
Frances worked in the financial sector in Edinburgh for over 26 years. She moved to Ayr in 2020 and is keen to be involved with the local community, aware of the diversity within the Fort, Seafield and Wallacetown area.
Denise is Vice Chair of the Fort, Seafield, & Wallacetown Community Association. She is passionate about community development, regeneration, and ensuring local residents have a strong voice in decisions that effect the area. Denise works closely with local organisations, elected represensitives, and community members to support projects that improve wellbeing, opportunity, and quality of life accross the community.
