Alan Roseweir | Chair


Alan has over 40 year's experience in Industry as an Electrical Engineer and the FE&HE sectors. He began as a lecturer, rising to senior management level in these sectors. His last position was as Associate Director for the Engineering Academy at the University of Strathclyde. He retired from that post in September 2024.


He became a Community Councillor for Fort, Seafield & Wallacetown in 2021. In the same year he initiated the proposal to establish the FSWCA.

John Allan | Vice-Chair


John is currently Vice-Chair of the FSWCA and has lived in the Fort area of Ayr since 2017. He is a former Bank Manager and has worked as a self-employed Business Consultant for more than 25 years.


Iain McKie | Secretary


Iain lives with his wife Mairi in the Fort area. He served 30 years in the police service during which time he attained a degree at Strathclyde University. On retirement he went on to work as an accredited counsellor in private practice and in a NHS surgery. He now works as a justice campaigner and supports prisoners. He chaired the Citadel Quay Owners Association for many years and since joining the FSWCA has focussed his energies on improving the quality of life for local redidents.

Frances Curran | Membership Secretary


Frances worked in the financial sector in Edinburgh for over 26 years. She moved to Ayr in 2020 and is keen to be involved with the local community, aware of the diversity within the Fort, Seafield and Wallacetown area.

Allison Muraru | Minutes Secretary


Allison has lived in Ayr Fort for 8 years with her husband and two dogs. She works from home making personalised greetings cards. In her free time she enjoys cooking, reading, and classical music. She joined FSWCA over a year ago and is the current minutes secretary.

Lynn Carleton | Member


Lynn is a retired hospital pharmacist who originally lived in Kilnarnock. She moved to Ayr 18 years ago for the sea views and still feels very lucky to stay here. She is dedicated to area that she lives in and is passionate about her work with the FSWCA. In her spare time she enjoys travelling, reading, and working on the construction of a dolls house.

Eric Armstrong | Member


Eric has worked as a Chartered Surveyor for over fifty years in the property and transport industry having senior management experience in the Merchant Navy, Rail and Aviation industries.

He has lived in Ayrshire for over forty years and takes a keen interest in the future development of infrastructure in the town of Ayr.
